Genealogy in Northern Ireland
Having cut my teeth on my own family history, over 25 years ago, and then working as a genealogical researcher for the Ulster Historical Foundation, I became an independent researcher expanding my repertoire to include tracing living relatives in N Ireland as well.
My Code of Practice
As a founding member of the Society of Genealogists of N Ireland I adhere to the Mission Statement of the Society. I only access information that is in the public domain and maintain confidentiality at all times. Agreements regarding number of hours, deadlines and reporting schedules are adhered to as much as possible and can be revised, by mutual agreement, as the research progresses.
I am a contributor to the US PBS program Finding your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jnr and have provided information on the ancestors of, amongst others, Ben Affleck, Julianne Moore and Bill Reilly.
‘Thank you for participating in the third season of Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. We couldn’t have done it without you!’ NW. Ark Media. New York.
‘I work for the PBS television show Finding your Roots. I know you have worked with us before and I have heard nothing but glowing reports about your work, so I am hoping you can help us again’. MT. Ark Media. New York.
Services I Offer
I provide a professional service at competitive rates to families, solicitors and probate genealogists.
So, have you always wondered what your N Ireland ancestors did for a living, how many children they had, what they died from and where they are buried?
As an experienced genealogist I can help you find out more about your family roots by searching the records on your behalf and presenting the information in a very readable form.
Tell me what you already know about your family, no matter how little it seems – dates, names, places etc. – and I will be able to advise you on how I can add to this knowledge.
Maybe you would like copies of actual certificates of births, deaths and marriages, or the less expensive option of having transcriptions where the exact details are copied from the certificate and presented in a very simple form.
Have a look at my Family Research page to help you decide.
Or, perhaps you need help identifying and locating beneficiaries in N Ireland and in obtaining documents such as certificates, wills etc. for legal purposes?
As the N Ireland agent for one of the main contributing genealogy firms on BBC’s Heir Hunters I have the skills and expertise to help.
Go to my Legal Services page to see the comprehensive range of services offered.
Please email me at familyfindersNI@gmail.com with your query and I will reply promptly with a quotation for the work involved and the expected timescale.
